Q. How do I bid?

A. In person - come along to the auction
Proxy bid - if you can't attend we can bid for you
By telephone - we phone you on auction day and relay your bids on your behalf
Online bidding - from this site you can bid at any time day or night

Q. What do you mean by starting price and reserve price?

A. The starting price is the lowest bid needed to start the auction. The reserve price is set by the seller and is undisclosed. This makes sure the property will not be sold for less than the seller is prepared to accept.

Q. What is meant by the terms conditional and unconditional auctions?

A. An unconditional auction ends at the fall of the hammer - the property is therefore sold, subject to meeting the reserve price. A conditional auction establishes a biding contract between the buyer and seller, but gives them 28 days to complete to process of exchanging contracts - this provides protection to both parties with a fixed term for completion.

Q. What is a buyers premium?

A. Some auction properties state in the catalogue that a buyers premium applies. In this case the buyer must pay a fee in addition to the purchase price.
